Created with a careful selection of wheat, oats and barley and following a long-lasting local recipe of the Mourne family, Killowen produces an artisanal Poitìn of the highest quality, distilling it with pot still still fed by direct flame. This small batch is made with a combination of malted and unmalted cereals. The poitìn, once illegal, is now seeing a strong revival in Ireland and Killowen is one of the greatest expressions of it.
